Man killed in Pittsburgh’s Perry South shooting identified

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a man killed in a shooting Tuesday night in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood.

Ted Evans, 39, of Pittsburgh, was shot on the 600 block of Danbury Street just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to the city’s public safety department.

One person has been detained for questioning, according to the department.

Officers found Evans dead between two homes, authorities said.

A SWAT team was called to the scene to search for the shooter. They found and detained a man around 10:30 p.m.

A SWAT team member suffered an ankle injury and was taken to the hospital.
