One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the West End Bridge late Tuesday night.

Another person is in critical condition after the incident, which happened after 11 p.m.

Cory Emmanuel Jones, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. Jones lived in Pittsburgh.

Two cars were traveling toward the bridge from Route 51. They were traveling fast, side-by-side, when one of the vehicles lost control and crashed into the other, according to reports.

At least five vehicles were involved.

The bridge was closed to traffic overnight but reopened at just about 4:30 a.m. in time for the morning rush hour commute.
