Overturned dump truck closes portion of Crane Road for hours
An overturned dump truck closed a portion of Crane Road near Brashear High School for about three hours on Sunday afternoon.
Pittsburgh police responded to the crash just before 2 p.m. in the area of Crane Road off of Saw Mill Run Boulevard.
When officers arrived they found the overturned truck spilling diesel fuel as well as the load of dirt the truck was carrying.
The driver told police his truck began sliding backwards on the steep hill and rather than hit the car behind him, he decided to downshift and overturned.
The car traveling behind the dump truck was not hit and no one was injured.
The incident is still under investigation.
