Penn Hills man sentenced to 7 years of prison for possessing heroin and firearms
A former Penn Hills resident has been sentenced to seven years in prison for federal narcotics and firearms offenses, federal prosecutors announced Thursday.
Antwon Shamar Bonner, 21, formerly of Penn Hills, pleaded guilty in January to a two-count indictment charging him with possessing heroin with the intent to distribute and with possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.
According to a news release, agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives served a search warrant at Bonner’s residence in June 2019. The agents found about 36 “bricks” of mixtures of heroin and fentanyl — constituting about 1,800 doses. The agents also seized around $2,000, four loaded guns, one that had its serial number removed, assorted ammunition and high-capacity firearm magazines.
