A Pitcairn man is in custody after being accused of making advances toward a 10-year-old boy and trying to lure him into an apartment, Tribune-Review news partner WPXI reported.

Brad Stanek, 35, is accused of approaching the boy who was riding a scooter toward Taza’s Market.

The boy told police Stanek began talking to him and ultimately asked him to come into his apartment because there was “cool stuff” inside.

The boy told police he felt uncomfortable because he doesn’t know Stanek. He recalled learning about Stranger Danger in school, and ran home and told his parents.

A surveillance video from the market shows Stanek following the boy, WPXI reported.

Stanek told police he was offering the boy a Band-Aid after he saw him wreck the scooter, but the boy did not have any cuts or scrapes.

Stanek is in the Allegheny County Jail.
