University of Pittsburgh students dance at the Pitt Dance Marathon, a 24-hour fundraiser that benefits Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh, at the Cost Sports Center in Oakland on Feb. 21, 2015. Some 560 participants took part in the event, hoping to raise $100,000.

They’ll be dancing for a reason for 12 hours Saturday at the Pitt Dance Marathon.

The event, held annually by University of Pittsburgh students, benefits UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

It begins at noon Saturday in the Charles L. Cost Center on Pitt’s campus in Oakland.

This year’s theme is “Find Your Why,” and organizers asking participants to find a purpose in dancing or standing for the marathon’s 12-hour run.

The event is open to the public. For information about making a donation, click here.
