American Eagle Outfitters has closed all stores in the United States and Canada, citing the most recent government recommendations about the spreading coronavirus.

The clothing outlet says it hopes to reopen retail stores on March 27, but it will reevaluate as time goes by.

American Eagle had already closed some stores in highly affected areas and limited hours in others.

“We have sought expert medical guidance, purchased the best available cleaning and preventative medical supplies, and implemented appropriate protocols so that no matter when or where our people live and shop, we can help ensure they do so safely,” CEO Jay Schottenstein said in a statement.

Schottenstein also said all AEO store associates will be compensated for scheduled work time.

Online shopping at ae.com will continue as normal.
