Curt Wootton, better known to his thousands of fans as “Pittsburgh Dad,” has played a father for years in his popular comedy sketches.

On Wednesday, he finally became one for real.

Wootton’s wife, Kaitlin, gave birth to the couple’s first child, daughter Penny Jean Wootton, Wednesday afternoon. The couple announced the birth on Facebook and Twitter.

Penny Jean was welcomed into the world in true “Pittsburgh Dad” fashion, wrapped in a Terrible Towel.

Wootton and his friend, Chris Preksta, created the “Pittsburgh Dad” YouTube channel in 2011.

The series lovingly pokes fun at Pittsburgh via its title character, a crotchety, stereotypical yinzer played by Wootton.

The character was based on Keith Wootton, Curt’s father, who died in February.

The YouTube channel has more than 170,000 subscribers.
