Allegheny County police have arrested a Pittsburgh man in connection with convenience store robberies in Turtle Creek and West Homestead.

Tyrese Jackson, 18, is charged with robbery and related charges.

County police said Jackson was responsible for the armed robbery of a BP gas station along West Seventh Avenue in West Homestead and the 7-Eleven store along James Street in Turtle Creek earlier this month.

Police said the robber had driven a gold Jeep during the robberies. Pittsburgh police officers spotted the vehicle in the Garfield section of the city Thursday.

Jackson was identified as the driver, taken into custody and lodged in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh.

Jackson also is charged with theft, carrying firearms without a license, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, escape, possession of controlled substances, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Police said Jackson may have robbed or attempted to rob other businesses wearing the same clothes worn in the 7-Eleven incident: a blue jacket with a red zipper, black gloves with the Steelers logo on the back and a white mask.
