A Pittsburgh man planned to meet a teenager for sex in Dormont but instead was confronted by police, according to federal authorities.
Brian L. Turek, 38, was indicted on charges of coercion and enticement of minors, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Scott Brady. Turek made an initial appearance in federal court Wednesday.
Investigators said Turek used a cellphone between Feb. 6 and Wednesday to exchange messages and set up a meeting with a person who he believed was 13. He was taken into custody at the Dormont T station Wednesday. Authorities said Turek had actually been communicating with an undercover FBI agent.
A preliminary examination and detention hearing are set for Friday.
