Pittsburgh man faces attempted homicide charge in connection with Mt. Lebanon home invasion
A Mt. Lebanon man was hospitalized with a severe throat laceration after being attacked during a home invasion late Friday morning, police said.
Mt. Lebanon police arrested Darius Johnson, 24, of Pittsburgh, in connection with the incident that occurred ar0und 11:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Pat Haven Drive.
He’s charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and possessing instruments of a crime.
Police said they were dispatched for a report of a home invasion. The victim told officers he knew the suspect, who became aggressive and cut him with a box cutter.
Officers arrested Johnson near the intersection of Bower Hill Road and Sylvandell Drive.
The victim was listed Friday evening in stable condition at UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
Johnson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 23 before Mt. Lebanon District Judge Blaise Larotonda.
