A Pittsburgh man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in a federal prison in connection with a 2016 drug overdose death, according to U.S. Attorney Scott Brady.

Larry Malloy, 26, will spend three years on probation following his release from prison. He pleaded guilty last week to distributing heroin and fentanyl in April, May and June 2016. Authorities said his drug dealing led to the April 2016 death of a 29-year-old man identified as “T.C.” in court records.

Investigators from Allegheny County and Verona connected Malloy to T.C.’s death through cellphone records, according to a sentencing memorandum filed by prosecutors. A county detective purchased seven bricks of heroin and fentanyl from Malloy in the months after T.C.’s death.

Malloy was ordered to pay nearly $8,000 in restitution to the victim’s family, Brady said.
