Pittsburgh man sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for trying to sell cocaine
A Pittsburgh man was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison this week for conspiring to sell cocaine, federal prosecutors said.
Thomas Poole, 54, was convicted for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said.
A Drug Enforcement Administration wiretap investigation primarily targeting cocaine trafficking in Western Pennsylvania revealed that Poole and others conspired to sell 15 kilograms to 50 kilograms of cocaine from August 2016 to Nov. 30, 2017, according to prosecutors.
Investigators on Nov. 30, 2017, also seized large sums of money and approximately six kilograms of cocaine from residences associated with Poole, Brady said.
Poole also was ordered to forfeit certain property, including more than $120,000 that was recovered by the DEA during the investigation.
