A Pittsburgh man was sentenced by a federal judge to serve nearly 11 years in prison after being convicted of narcotics and firearms violations.

Jamiek Moore, 23, was sentenced this week by U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton.

Moore was convicted in March after a two-day, non-jury trial. He was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute heroin and marijuana and related charges, and two counts of having guns in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Authorities said Moore conspired with others to sell heroin in May and June 2017.

Police raided a residence along Yosemite Drive in Penn Hills. They seized heroin, large quantities of heroin packaging materials, about $28,000 in cash and two loaded guns.

Authorities said Moore also sold heroin out of a residence along Rhine Court in Pittsburgh.

The investigation was conducted by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with Pittsburgh and Penn Hills police.
