A Pittsburgh man was hospitalized after being shot Sunday in a Homestead home invasion.
The incident took place at an apartment building around 9:30 a.m. along the 300 block of East Ninth Avenue.
Police Chief Jeff DeSimone said at least one person kicked in a steel reinforced door of a second-floor unit and shot a man in the leg.
The victim was transported to UPMC Mercy hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It was unclear if the suspect or suspects stole anything.
Police believe it was a targeted attack.
“It doesn’t seem random to me,” DeSimone said.
No other injuries were reported.
Information about possible suspects was not released. Allegheny County Police have taken over the investigation.
