A deer crashed through a door to this Key Bank branch early Friday, according to Pittsburgh police.

A confused deer smashed through a door of a bank early Friday in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood and ran off, according to Pittsburgh police.

Officers were called to the Key Bank in the 3700 block of Fifth Avenue around 7:55 a.m. for a report of the deer inside the building, according to police spokesman Maurice Matthews. The deer ran back out the door and took off in an unknown direction, he said. Police were unsure if the animal was injured.

The bank branch remained opened.

Officials said deer sometimes crash through windows after seeing their reflections and thinking it is another deer.

Correction: The bank is in Oakland. An earlier version of the story stated the bank was in Uptown.
