Pittsburgh police have made an arrest in a Jan. 7 shooting in downtown Pittsburgh.

Roy Joseph Johnson, 23, was arrested overnight, police announced Friday. He was charged with aggravated assault, attempted homicide and reckless endangerment.

Johnson allegedly shot another man multiple times in the 900 block of Liberty Avenue around 2:15 a.m. Jan. 7.

Initially in critical condition at an unnamed hospital, the victim has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Pittsburgh police thanked the public and news media for their help in the arrest.

“Police released security camera images of a man wanted for questioning in connection to the shooting on Jan. 16. After media shared the images, detectives received valuable tips leading to the arrest,” police said in a statement. “Investigations are always made easier when we receive residents’ help.”
