Pittsburgh police continue to search for a man they say caused a fender bender last week in Bloomfield and then robbed the other driver.

The incident happened March 25 near the intersection of Baum Boulevard and Liberty Avenue, according to the police report out of the city’s Zone 5 station.

A 27-year-old man told police he was rear-ended by a gray Nissan SUV about 4 p.m., according to the report. When the driver of the SUV refused to provide his insurance information, the man began filming the encounter with his cellphone.

According to police, the suspect knocked the phone from the man’s hand and took it, refusing to give it back. The suspect then took $200 from the man’s pocket and walked back to his SUV, police said.

The man followed, and the SUV’s passenger flashed a handgun, according to police.

The driver of the SUV was described as a 40- to 45-year-old black man with a stocky build of about 200 pounds and standing about 5 feel, 7 inches tall. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Police described his passenger as a black man between 40 and 45 and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall.
