At least one Pittsburgh Zone 2 police officer is in self-isolation after possibly coming into contact with a coronavirus-infected person.

Public Information Officer Chris Togneri said officers responded to a minor collision involving two vehicles in Market Square around noon Monday.

He said one of the drivers was determined to exhibit symptoms similar to covid-19, and that person was transported to a local hospital for testing.

“Out of an abundance of caution, officers who were at the crash scene were sent home to self-isolate until the matter is further evaluated,” Togneri said. “None of the officers are showing symptoms.”

It’s unclear how many officers may have been affected.
