A priest in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh has tested negative for coronavirus after coming into contact with someone exposed to the virus, according to the diocese.
Despite the negative test result, the Rev. Thomas Gramc will still undergo a voluntary 14-day quarantine out of an abundance of caution, the diocese announced.
Gramc went into isolation this week after showing minor symptoms consistent with covid-19.
He is parochial vicar of the Dormont, Mount Lebanon, Scott Township grouping in the South Hills and chaplain for Seton La Salle High School.
He has not had any contact with students or faculty of the high school since its temporary closure March 13.
Other priests in the Dormont, Mount Lebanon and Scott Township grouping remain in voluntary quarantine because of potential exposure to the virus.
On Sunday, the diocese announced the Rev. Adam Potter, assistant pastor of Pittsburgh’s Greenfield, Hazelwood and Oakland grouping, tested positive for coronavirus.
