A Pittsburgh street will close for more than two months starting Wednesday morning, according to Allegheny County Department of Public Works.
Ramp Street will be closed until mid-July for crews to preserve Streets Run Bridge No. 2. The street connects Mifflin Road to Baldwin Road near the Glenwood Bridge and Sandcastle Water Park, close to the border of Hays and New Homestead neighborhoods.
Bridge work will include a new latex concrete deck overlay, a sidewalk, repair to the guiderail and improvements to the road approaching the bridge, according to a county news release. Pugliano Construction of Plum is handling the work, which is part of a $2.2 million project addressing four structurally deficient bridges in the county.
Drivers on Baldwin Road can use Glass Run Road, Route 837, West Eighth Avenue, Forest Avenue, West Run Road, Interboro Avenue and Mifflin Road. Drivers on Mifflin Road can detour around the work by using Buttermilk Hollow Road, Lebanon Church Road and Lebanon Road.
