A baby was in good health after being found on a porch in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

According to police, officers went to a residence in the 1900 block of Termon Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

A woman told officers she heard knocking on her door for several minutes. When she checked the door, she found that someone had left a baby bundled up in clothes in a baby carrier on her porch.

At that time, the temperature was about 32 degrees with a mix of rain and snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Police said the baby was identified and is believed to be related to the woman who called police. The incident is believed to be part of a domestic dispute involving the baby’s parents, police said.

The baby was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, police said.

Police were continuing to investigate and conferring with the Office of Children, Youth and Families to determine custody of the baby and possible charges.
