Police: Boy, 16, shot in arm in Pitcairn

A 16-year-old boy was reported in stable condition after being shot Wednesday in Pitcairn.

Allegheny County Police said borough officers responded to a call for shots fired around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Fourth Street and Highland Avenue.

Authorities said police found evidence of a shooting along the 500 block of Fifth Street, but there was no victim found.

Officers later discovered that the victim was driven by a family member to a hospital after being found shot in the arm.

No information about possible suspects was released.
