A woman was in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Pittsburgh’s Bedford Dwellings neighborhood early Friday, police said.

Pittsburgh police said the driver fled from the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.

Police responded to the collision at Bedford Avenue and Chauncey Drive around 3:15 a.m.

The woman was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, police said.
