A trail walker discovered human remains Monday in Bethel Park, Allegheny County Police said.

The person called 911 shortly before 11:30 a.m. after finding the remains while on a trail near trolley tracks, police said.

County homicide detectives are investigating but “preliminary indications are that foul play is not suspected,” police said in a news release at about 5:30 p.m.

No further details were released about the remains.

“The Medical Examiner’s Office will release identifying information when appropriate,” officials said.

Police urged anyone who may have information to call the county police tipline at 1-833-255-8477 (833-ALL-TIPS). Callers can remain anonymous.
