Police identify victim of fatal shooting early Saturday in Homestead

A 22-year-old man has died after he was shot early Saturday morning in Homestead.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identifed the victim as Tre-quan Embry of Homestead.

Police were called to the 300 block of East 17th Avenue at 12:37 a.m. on Feb. 2 for a report of shots fired. They arrived to find a man later identified as Embry lying in the street who’d been shot multiple times.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital where he died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

County homicide detectives are investigating.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
