Pittsburgh police continue to investigate what was possibly an armed robbery at the Dollar General store along Centre Avenue in Oakland.

Officers from Zone 5 responded at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 2 to a robbery in progress at 4725 Centre Avenue.

Employees told police that a man demanded money and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, police spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.

The suspect walked around the store for a short while before approaching the counter with his hand under his shirt at his waistband, according to police.

Described as being 45-60 years old, the suspect was wearing a white T-shirt with black stripes and red-striped sleeves. He had on a black baseball hat and jean shorts.
