Police are investigating a shooting that caused a water leak inside a Hill District apartment building early Friday.

No injuries were reported, Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.

Shortly before 2 a.m., Pittsburgh police and firefighters responded to an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Centre Avenue for a report of shots fired.

Authorities believe that the “shots were fired indoors, from one apartment suite into another,” Cruz said.

At least one shot struck a pipe inside one of the apartments, Cruz said.

Firefighters got the leak under control while police searched for victims.

Officials said they not find any victims or suspects.

Earlier incident

In a separate incident a few hours earlier, a 21-year-old man was killed in a shooting at an apartment building in the 2500 block of Chauncey Drive in Bedford Dwellings section of the Hill District.

Terrance Jerome Jones Jr. died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

No arrests have been made.

Police continue to investigate both shootings.

Anyone with information about either incident can reach Pittsburgh Zone 2 police at 412-255-2827. Tips can remain anonymous.
