Police investigating Homestead shooting

One person is in critical condition and police are searching for a suspect after a shooting in Homestead Saturday night, officials said.

Allegheny County Police responded to the area of East 14th Street and East 15th Street around 8 p.m. after receiving multiple calls reporting gunshots. Officers were unable to immediately find a crime scene upon arrival, but shortly after 8 p.m., a 37-year-old man showed up to Mercy Hospital with gunshot wounds to the back.

Further investigation showed the man had been shot on East Pine Way, located between East 14th and East 15th Streets. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Officers identified a black male, last seen wearing a black hoody with white strips, blue jeans and black tennis shoes as the suspect.
