Police are investigating a shooting and a vehicle crash that happened near each other in North Braddock on April 12, 2019.

Allegheny County police are investigating an overnight shooting and crash in North Braddock.

Officers responded at about 2 a.m. to a call for shots fired along the 1200 block of Bell Avenue at Tunns Bar. Police found several shell casings littering the ground.

Shortly after, and just a short distance away, police came upon the scene of a pickup that crashed into a vacant building at the corner of Penn and Baldridge avenues. Officers said bullet holes were visible on the truck.

Then they learned a 29-year-old man was involved in a fight with two unknown men inside the bar. He then fled the bar and entered his vehicle to leave.

Multiple gunshots were fired at him causing him to crash into an abandoned home, detectives said.

The man wasn’t hit by the gunfire but was taken to a hospital for minor injuries he suffered in the crash.

Police said they don’t know the identities of the people who assaulted and fired at the man and they are seeking the public’s help.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS or 412- 473-3000.

Callers can remain anonymous.

Detectives can also be reached via the county’s social media channels.
