An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of pointing a gun at a woman during a road rage incident on the Liberty Bridge last week.

The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. April 11 as the woman was driving on the Liberty Bridge toward the Liberty Tunnels, according to a criminal complaint filed by Pittsburgh police.

The woman told police that the driver of a black Ford pickup began waving his hands and pointing at her vehicle when she did not allow him to merge in front of her. She then looked in her rear view mirror and saw him pull out a handgun, pull back the slide and point it toward her vehicle.

The woman positioned her SUV so she could spot the rear of the truck as it traveled up McArdle Roadway toward Mt. Washington. She was able to see part of the licence plate number, according to the complaint.

The woman called 911 to report the incident and then went to the Zone 3 station to file a report.

Police used the partial plate number and description of the truck she provided to search state records and identify Nicholas Steven Kerr as a possible suspect.

The picture from Kerr’s drivers license was then used in a photo array from which the woman identified him “without hesitation,” according to the complaint.
