A man was shot in the arm Thursday afternoon in Monroeville in what police are describing as a road rage fight.

The man was taken to Forbes Regional Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police Chief Doug Cole said officers responded to a call for shots fired around 2:50 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Stroschein Road and Monroeville Boulevard.

Two vehicles were involved, one with two women in it and the other with the man who was shot, Cole said.

“They got in an altercation over something and got out screaming, yelling at each other,” Cole said.

One of the women fired a shot at the man’s car, striking him in the arm, the chief said.

The man then drove to a nearby GetGo, where he was met by police and paramedics and then taken to the hospital.

Cole said both vehicles were seized, all individuals were identified and the incident remains under investigation. Charges hadn’t yet been filed.
