Police: Man shot in Beltzhoover dies at hospital
A man was shot and killed Wednesday morning in Pittsburgh’s Beltzhoover neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh police.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the victim Thursday morning as Robert Fulton, 33, of Pittsburgh. He died in the emergency room at UPMC Mercy Hospital, according to the medical examiner.
Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said police were called to the 200 block of Taft Avenue shortly before 11:45 a.m. Police found Fulton in the street with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
He was taken to the hospital where he died, Cruz said.
Taft Avenue is about 600 feet up the hillside from the South Hills Junction T Station off of Boggston Avenue.
Major Crimes detectives and the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene, Cruz said, and had left by about 1:45 p.m. People who live in the homes in the area didn’t answer their doors.
