A Monroeville man remained in jail Sunday for allegedly exposing himself to and trying to lure two girls in McKeesport, court records show.

Carlos Levy, 30, was allegedly parked on Ross Street late in the afternoon on Aug. 2, according to the criminal complaint filed against him. Two girls, ages 10 and 7, were playing nearby when Levy asked the older child if she knew how to get to Family Dollar.

As the pair approached the car, Levy allegedly asked if they wanted to “make money” and exposed himself from inside the car, according to the complaint. They told police Levy reached out the window toward them, according to the complaint, and the older girl told the younger girl to run.

She said the car turned the same direction she did as she ran toward her grandmother’s house, police wrote, and the car tried to cut her off before taking off toward Evans Avenue.

Court records did not list an attorney for Levy as of Sunday afternoon.

Police said surveillance footage from the area showed the scene unfold as the children told it. They also showed the car’s registration, which led them to Levy, according to the complaint.

Police contacted Levy through his employer, and he agreed to meet with detectives. He told officers he was in McKeesport looking for his brother, who suffers from drug addiction, according to the complaint. He denied exposing himself or trying to lure the children.

Levy is charged with indecent exposure, luring a child into a vehicle and corruption of minors. He remains in the Allegheny County Jail, unable to post $20,000 bail.
