A 67-year-old man was taken into custody Saturday evening after police say he stabbed another man in Pitcairn.

Pitcairn police and paramedics were called to a rooming house on the 200 block of Broadway Boulevard just before 5:15 p.m., and arrived to discover a 60-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times in the lower torso.

He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Allegheny County Police homicide detectives’ investigation led them to a 67-year-old man they said got into a fight with the victim in one of the rooms. He was taken into custody. Police did not provide the man’s identity.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
