First ducklings, now poults.

Pittsburgh police in Squirrel Hill pulled four baby turkeys – called poults, as officers apparently discovered – from a storm drain near Parkview Boulevard at Summerset Drive.

Officer Alex Herstine climbed into the storm drain and handed the tiny turkeys up to Officer Jason Washington, who placed them in a Trader Joe’s reusable bag.

“It was the only bag we had,” according to the Facebook post.

The officers had the poults out of harm’s way within 15 minutes.

Earlier this month, a group effort by Pittsburgh paramedics, police and Public Works employees helped save 10 ducklings from a West End storm drain.

The ducklings were trapped in a section of drain that spanned three grates and goes to Sawmill Run Creek, police said.
