Pittsburgh police are seeking the public’s help locating the driver of a vehicle who fled after striking two pedestrians in the Hill District on Monday night.

The crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. near the intersection of Bedford Avenue and Chauncey Drive.

Investigators say officers from the city’s Zone 2 station in the Hill District got behind a stolen vehicle they spotted but did not initiate a pursuit.

The vehicle then sped off and hit two people, police said.

The people hit were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Information about the extent of the injuries they suffered was not available.

Officers detained two juveniles who were in the vehicle for questioning.

Police said the woman who was driving the vehicle ran after hitting the pedestrians.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Zone 2 detectives at 412-255-2827.
