Allegheny County police released an updated photo of a man they said is suspected in an April 7 fatal Pitcairn stabbing.

Derrick Avant, 59, is wanted for an incident in which a woman was stabbed during an argument and later died from her injuries.

The victim was identified as Alison Fritzius, 55, of Pitcairn, according to the county medical examiner’s office.

Avant is described as being 5’9” and very thin, about 140 pounds. He is balding with gray hair and missing most of his front teeth, according to police.

Avant is known to the Pitcairn police and believed to be in the borough or surrounding areas.

He is accused of arguing with Fritzius at about 6 p.m. April 7 in the 800 block of Broadway Boulevard. Police responded to calls and found Fritzius bleeding from her chest on a Hillside Avenue porch. She was transported to a local hospital where she died.

County Homicide officers said Avant fled the scene.

Anyone who sees him or has information about his location is asked to call 911, the county police tip line at 1-833-255-8477, or the department’s social media sites. Callers can remain anonymous.
