Two men were arrested Friday when narcotics detectives seized $26,650 in cash, 10 pounds of marijuana, ecstasy tablets and a stolen .45-caliber handgun during a raid at a Braddock residence, Allegheny County police said.

Dontae Jackson, 35, of Braddock and Melvin McCane, 36, of Swissvale, were arrested Friday morning at a house in the 200 block of First Street in Braddock, police said. Narcotics detectives with the county police and narcotics agents with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office conducted the raid. The arrests were the result of an investigation that began in March.

Police said they seized a bullet-proof ballistic vest, packaging material for marijuana distribution, 1,871 ecstasy tablets, a half ounce of ecstasy powder, numerous pre-rolled hashish cigars, 11 grams of THC wax, numerous THC vape cartridges and oxycodone pills.

They said the gun was stolen from someone in Oakmont.

Both men were charged with possession with intent to deliver. Jackson also faces charges of manufacturing a controlled substance, illegal possession of firearm, receiving stolen property and endangering the welfare of a child. The pair were placed in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh, pending arraignment.

McCane is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 30 in Allegheny County Court involving a different case.

In that case, he is accused of shooting his former girlfriend’s new boyfriend in North Versailles on May 14. He faces charges of aggravated and simple assault, illegal possession of a firearm and recklessly endangering another person in that case.
