Rainbow-wrapped Port Authority bus shows off Pittsburgh Pride
A Port Authority bus will be wrapped in rainbow for the next week to promote the annual Pittsburgh Pride event scheduled for next weekend.
The rainbow bus is a partnership between the Port Authority and the Delta Foundation in the lead-up to Pittsburgh Pride, set for June 7 – 9. It’s another in a long line of community events for which the Port Authority has decked out a bus, according to Jim Ritchie, a Port Authority spokesman.
“More recently, we’ve been ‘wrapping’ buses to honor and recognize those events as they occur,” he said.

He said a bus was wrapped for African American Heritage day, Veterans Day and Earth Day. The rainbow bus will be driven in the June 9 Equality March and be available at the event for photo ops.
The hope is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, he said.
Ritchie said the bus will pick up passengers on different routes through the area while it is wrapped.
