At least four people on Pittsburgh’s South Side have reported hearing recordings of children’s voices and crying babies outside their homes, according to police.

Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri said police have received four reports from different areas of the South Side. The callers said they heard a crying baby or a child’s voice asking for help and noted it was a recording.

Togneri said officers responded in each case, but did not hear the sound or find the source of the sound.

He said anyone who experiences something similar should call 911.
