Reminder for motorists to work around Parkway East closure this weekend
Motorists are reminded that a portion of the Parkway East (Interstate 376) is shut down this weekend.
All outbound lanes are closed between the Forbes Avenue/Oakland exit and the Edgewood/Swissvale exit until 5 a.m. Monday.
PennDOT also closed the following ramps for the weekend:
- Boulevard of the Allies ramp to outbound I-376.
- Bates Avenue ramp to outbound I-376.
- Beechwood Boulevard ramp to outbound I-376.
- Westbound I-376 off-ramp to Squirrel Hill/Homestead.
PennDOT is advising drivers in Pittsburgh trying to reach the Pennsylvania Turnpike to consider taking Route 28. Those east of Monroeville and points south and west of the city should consider taking I-79 to I-70 to reach the turnpike.
More information on closures and detours is available here.
