A $900,000 project to build a retaining wall and repair a section of Diana Street is set to begin Monday in Pittsburgh’s Spring Hill neighborhood.
The city’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure said the work is expected to take about six months. It will repair the damage caused by a February 2018 landslide that closed a short section of Diana Street near Ives Way.
Diana Street is one of several streets that were affected by landslides over the last year of record-breaking wet weather.
This is another part of the city’s investment in landslide remediation that also includes the $1 million response to the Greenleaf Street landslide in West End last year.
More than $8 million will be invested this year to protect and restore public rights of way, according to the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure.
