Water rescue teams and other emergency personnel responded Thursday to a report of a “boat in distress” along the Allegheny River in Sharpsburg.

No one was injured, officials said.

Dispatchers received the call about the boat in need and possibly filling up with water near a marina near Main and 13th streets shortly after 6:30 p.m., an Allegheny County 911 shift commander said.

Public safety units assisted from Etna, Sharpsburg, Millvale and Blawnox.

A Sharpsburg firefighter confirmed the issue had been resolved without the need of medics by 8 p.m.
