A Reserve Township man with alleged access to firearms and previous run-ins with law enforcement has been charged with threatening to shoot every member of the Millvale Police Department.

Tyler Allison, 23, was charged with four counts each of making terroristic threats and harassment following a June 4 medical call to his home in the 900 block of Stanton Avenue Extension, according to criminal complaint filed in support of the charges.

A Reserve Township police officer and three officers from Millvale accompanied Ross-West View EMS to the call for a medical emergency because Allison “is known by Reserve and Millvale police from multiple past dealings,” according to the criminal complaint.

Police say Allison became “irate” when the EMS crew and officers entered the home and began shouting profanities at police, according to the criminal complaint.

Allison allegedly directed the threat to shoot police officers to the paramedic who was loading him into an ambulance to be transported to the hospital for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

“Who’s the little cop?” Allison allegedly asked the paramedic. “I am adding him to my list. I’ve got an AK upstairs. And I’m going to smoke all the Millvale cops. I have a bullet for each one of them.”

In addition to the police chief, Millvale has 10 officers.

Reserve police Officer Nicholas Anderson, who filed the charges against Allison, wrote in the complaint that he is “personally aware that Allison has access to a pistol as he has boasted about it before and possessed it on prior calls.”

Millvale police chief Tim Komoroski said whenever officers have interacted with Allison in the past, he was openly carrying a firearm tucked in his belt, which does not require a special permit.

“We’ve had numerous interactions with him and he has made it clear how he feels about the police,” Komoroski said. “So our approach with him or anyone else who is on our radar is that you don’t put your guard down, you don’t let him get behind an officer and you don’t let an officer be alone with him.”

Investigators noted in court records that Allison posted photos on his Facebook page of himself and five friends “holding handguns and an AK47 style rifle with no stock” as well as two revolvers and two semi-automatic pistols.

The photo also shows Allison throwing up “gang signs” and having “gang affiliated” clothing and tattoos, according to the complaint.

“He has said several times that he’s tied to the Crips gang,” Komoroski said. “I don’t believe he is, but he makes that statement.”

The chief said “quite a few” weapons were seized from Allison’s house when police executed a search warrant, including one that is being investigated by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for possibly being stolen.

Reserve Township also wrote in the complaint that they are “directly aware that Tyler Allison and other adult males that live at the (residence) are anti-police and have communicated that directly to officers on previous dealings.”

Police said Allison’s verbal threats combined with access to multiple firearms raised concerns that he “may act upon his threats due to his unstableness when officers interact with him.”

Allison was released from the Allegheny County Jail after posting $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30.

Allison does not have an attorney listed in court documents.
