A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect being sought for the Feb. 25 death of a man who was shot through his home’s front door in Rankin.

A reward of up to $1,000 reward is being offered by Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers in connection with the death of Wilbert Barber, 58, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced deceased at his home in the 300 block of Fifth Avenue, according to investigators.

Police say Barber was shot after he responded to someone knocking at the door.

A motive for the shooting has not yet been determined, but investigators say the victim was involved in a physical altercation earlier that day at Edgewood Towne Center.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
