A Ross Township man was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison Thursday for strangling a woman after ending their relationship.

Robert Metz, 69, pleaded guilty Jan. 7 to one count each of third-degree murder and abuse of a corpse for killing Dolores Miller at his Perrytown Place apartment in June.

Miller, 56, of Sheraden was reported missing June 19, two days after she was last seen, according to police.

Investigators said Miller’s phone records led them to Metz, who told them he had been in a relationship with Miller since December 2017.

Metz told police he broke off his relationship with Miller because she would not leave her husband. He admitted to killing her when she came to his apartment on June 17 to get her belongings.
