Pittsburgh police officers who were self-isolating after they responded to a Monday call where a person had symptoms of covid-19 are back on duty after test results confirmed the person didn’t have the disease, city Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri said.

The officer responded to a two-vehicle crash at noon in Downtown’s Market Square and one of the drivers had symptoms consistent with covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

The officers have ended their self-isolation and will be working their regular shifts, Togneri said.

He didn’t specify how many officers were involved.
