Memorials at the Tree of Life congregation, Oct. 29, 2018.

The Pittsburgh Jewish community is planning a day of service, study and remembrance on Oct. 27, a year after a Pittsburgh synagogue became the site of the country’s deadliest anti-Semitic attack.

The 2018 massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue killed 11 worshippers across three congregations that held services in the Wilkins Avenue building: Tree of Life - Or L’Simcha, Dor Hadash and New Light.

The day after the shooting, hundreds stood vigil inside and outside of Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland. It is where the community plans to gather at 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, for a public memorial.

Other events throughout the day will include community service and Torah study sessions. More details will be released later on a website for the memorial events, www.pittsburghoct27.org.
