A Shaler man pleaded guilty to one count of sharing child porn on the internet, the U.S. Attorney in Pittsburgh announced Wednesday.

Brian R. Reddinger, 36, pleaded guilty Wednesday before U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon.

In 2017, he pleaded not guilty to three child pornography counts. When he changed his plea Wednesday, two of the charges were dismissed.

Prosecutors said a 2016 Homeland Security investigation about internet sharing of child pornography led to Reddinger.

The government said 2,932 images and 60 videos of child porn were found on Reddinger’s desk top computer, tablet and cellphone.

The files included children as young as 5.

Judge Bissoon scheduled sentencing for Jan. 9.

Reddinger could receive a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. His sentence will be based upon the seriousness of the offense and any prior criminal history.

Pending sentencing, the court continued Reddinger’s $50,000 unsecured bond, according to court records.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Shanicka L. Kennedy is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
